Hell All, So I have been asked to write for another blog site called Oh, the life of a D.O.L.L which stands for Distinguished Outstanding Leading Ladies. I will periodically also share those blog entries on here as well for you. The link to that website is (www.thelifeofadoll.com) Here is the first entry... YOU ARE IMPORTANT... It's often so easy to doubt yourself. You sometimes feel as if everyone is against youThe truth is, many times we are against ourselves. Everyone woman is born with a voice inside, some of us know how to listen to it and use it for self improvement, upliftment, encouragement and more. However there is also a voice that can speak negativity, defeat and destruction. This causes one to self sabotage themselves. Today I am here to share with you... Don't run from the noise but deal with it. People try to find things to do to suppress the feelings, going out, getting in unhealthy feel good relationships, partying, drinking and etc. But the noise doesn't get any calmer by trying to drown it out or by ignoring it. By talking to confidants, therapist, a pastor or someone else about what you are going through will help you to acknowledge what you are dealing with and help you move forward to dealing with yourself. Always remember that YOU ARE IMPORTANT. We all play an important role in our own lives and decisions. As a result the world and others may be affected by our actions. Don't live your life feeling guilty about your thoughts or opinions. IT''s TRUE. Not everyone will agree with you, not everyone will support you. But the truth is YOU ARE IMPORTANT. YOU ARE SPECIAL. YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND. Therefore you don't need anyone's approval to be your best self. For me God has always directed my steps and I know he has created me to do Great things. I know if he has done that for me. Then he can and will do it for you too. While our journey is different, it doesn't mean that mine is better than yours and vice versa. It only means we are both so important that we will continue to make a difference in this world because of our uniqueness. I want you to always remember that YOU ARE IMPORTANT because your life will change the lives of others and you are an inspiration to someone whom you may not even realize. Your life is an inspiration and regardless of your past know that you have the power to listen to the positive voice that wants greatness, wants to love, uplift, encourage and spread joy. You have the power to push through and keep Moving in Faith because YOU ARE IMPORTANT. Message until next blog: YOU ARE IMPORTANT ;o) Optional Activity: Write down on a piece a paper all of your qualities things you feel like you are good at. Read them out loud and record yourself if you can. Then get a mirror and play it back as you are looking at yourself. JOIN THE MOVEMENT Winners of the Moving in Faith shirts... I love people, especially having the opportunity to work with youth. The smallest of gestures goes the longest way and honestly has the greatest of impacts. I had the honor of speaking to a 7th grade class at Lincold Middle School a few weeks ago and then decided with a friend who teaches the classes to offer a prize option for the best produced autobiography project in the class. The students were not aware this would be a project which was great. Because at the end of the day as a student, worker, anyone you should always be putting forth your best work. "Doing what is right" Once it was announced this was going to be a contest that's when some students decided to try harder in the sense but for some it was too late. There were many lessons learned from this 1. Always be prepared for an opportunity: Those students that were just striving to do their best work from the beginning didn't have to work any harder than they were already working and their pieces showed it. Because they did everything they were suppose to leading up until the announcement of the contest they were able to try and be extra creative and they had the time to do so. 2. Even if you think your out, still try: Many students know that they didn't do what they were suppose to do but when the announcement of the competition came out. They stepped their game up and still tried to produce something that could potentially win. The point is you never know so don't rule yourself out just because you think you are behind. The effort shows and because of that these students got better grades than they would have before. 3. Finish Strong: It was cool to see all the various autobiographies that the students produced. Regardless of the grades this assignment enabled them to start sharing their story and honestly A for stories all around because thier story is their story and one thing they walked away with as well as we should always remember is that being unique to ourselves is most important. It is also important to not be afraid to share who we are. Therefore regardless of how far behind you are.... Always strive to "Finish Strong" The winners of each class were Litzy, Dayanna, Randy and Zachery these four did such a great job and I know Ms. Stanley and Mrs. Toth as well as myself are proud of them and everyone in the class because sometimes the hardest thing to do is share your story. I really am starting to believe that it's becoming a trend whenever it rains, I feel even more compelled to write. But today just seems so much more peaceful. I sit on my living room couch as its thundering, lightning and raining. It's really quite therapeutic staring out the balcony window at the view with laptop on my lap as I type in order to share a little more of my thoughts with you. Everyday I walk around seeing this person, and that person, having this conversation and that conversation. Physically being there but sometimes feeling completely invisible. I smile, listen and speak, trying to hear myself in the process. I sometimes try to step outside of myself and watch my demeanor and actions, imagining my own facial expressions; wanting to see what others see. To know that you are loved yet still feel unseen is something throughout life I have battled with. Knowing that the only person to truly know, love, understand, respect and accept me for exactly who I am is my Lord Jesus Christ. Wanting so much to build that same relationship with others but in reality trying to allow myself to emulate that also is something I've realized will be a lifelong ongoing task. You strive to do it everyday but at some point there is some sort of misunderstanding, there is a day or moment where you simply fall short of that task. One missed phone call, one unanswered text, one moment of confusion sends you on a path causing you to wonder why aren't he, she, myself more like Him. The truth is we all have the capabilities to be more like him. The truth is we are "Him" as we are created in His image. While we fall short of his Glory on a regular basis, it is his grace that covers us. The one major difference we constantly encounter though is that while none of us are perfect. It is our imperfections that make us perfect to Him. The one thing to know and remember is that God is perfect. The reality is we are the individuals that hurt, stop calling and disrespect Him while he constantly forgives us on a moment by moment basis. The only thing I'm constantly learning is if the pain I feel when I experience that lack of connection, communication, response, respect and love is what He feels on a regular basis but still loves unconditionally and forgives. Then just like Him I need to learn to still be able to love through it and wholeheartedly forgive. The first person and hardest person being myself. I have written a poem that I am sharing with you all... So please enjoy Noticeably Unseen By: Z I looked in the mirror and I saw you I didn't realize how detrimental this would be I chose to be unseen just to be seen I wanted so much for you to see I did not realize I was blind What a way our mind makes assumptions. Personal desires, wants, leaves us rambunctious If we're not careful we'll cause destruction Stop and think about the others perspective Their reality is not always our reality and that should be respected. Lessons are learned from all around while we can't fit their shoes, we can acknowledge their walk. Step by step, we will get there So don't let go before your destination. Faith has away of making the uncertain certain. So trust and believe that your journey is worth it. Always remember.... You are who you are and they are who they are. We all are in his image and all should be respected. No matter how different one thing remains the same. We deserve love, freedom and to be treated like human beings. Differences will be encountered and not everyone will get along, but respect is something that just needs to be maintained. May you all have a fabulous night, day, week, weekend based on whenever you are reading this blog. Stay Blessed and keep on Moving in Faith. I love you all ;-) |
